Roof Replacement After Denied Insurance Claim
From a Denied Claim and Recurring Leaks to a Fully Restored Roofing System in Sugar Land, TX
Project Background
When Ace Construction Services met this homeowner, he had all but given up on his roof. The original roofing system had been built with shingles that proved defective over time, and multiple leaks had developed across the roof. His insurance claim had already been denied, and after that setback he had settled into a frustrating cycle, patching each new leak as it appeared, knowing the underlying problem was never truly being solved.
Our team was already working in the neighborhood when we had the opportunity to speak with him about the condition of his roof. Instead of recommending another temporary patch, we performed a thorough inspection, documented the damage properly with detailed photos and written notes, and prepared a complete scope of work that was submitted to his carrier, AAA Insurance.
With the damage clearly documented and the full scope presented, we worked through the process on his behalf and got the claim approved. After years of chasing leaks and a discouraging denial, he finally had a real path to a permanent solution. If you’ve been through a similar experience, our insurance claim support page explains how we approach the documentation and claim process.

“Roberto and his team provided an excellent service. He is very knowledgeable about filing claims with insurance companies and is proactive when in the process of filing your claim.”

// OUR WORK PROCESS
Why These Materials Were Chosen
After years of dealing with defective shingles and a system that had never performed as it should, this homeowner needed materials he could trust for the long term. Every component selected on this project was chosen with that goal in mind.
Owens Corning Duration® Shingles
Duration shingles were selected for their SureNail Technology, strong wind resistance, and proven performance in the Texas climate, all backed by manufacturer warranties that give this roof lasting value well beyond installation day. After years of a defective system, the warranty coverage was as important as the performance. Browse the full range of residential roof types we install, including all available shingle options.
Owens Corning RIZERidge® Premium Ridge Cap
The ridge lines were finished with the RIZERidge premium ridge cap system, chosen for upgraded protection along the most exposed areas of the roof while delivering a bold, dimensional appearance. Ridge areas take the most direct wind and rain exposure, and a premium cap system is a meaningful upgrade over standard alternatives on a full replacement project.
GAF StormGuard® Ice & Water Shield
GAF StormGuard was installed in the areas most vulnerable to water intrusion, exactly where this homeowner had been fighting leaks for years. The self-sealing waterproofing layer provides a secondary barrier in the zones where failures are most likely to occur, including eaves, valleys, and around penetrations.
GAF Master Flow® Pivot Pipe Boots
Every pipe penetration was upgraded with GAF Master Flow Pivot boots, replacing the aging flashings that commonly crack and fail under constant Texas sun and temperature cycling. Pipe penetrations are one of the most common long-term leak sources on residential roofs, and the Pivot Boot design holds up significantly better over time than traditional alternatives.
New Drip Edge at Full Perimeter
A brand new drip edge was installed around the entire perimeter of the roof to direct water cleanly off the edges and protect the fascia and decking below. On an older system, the drip edge is a detail that's frequently overlooked and when it fails or is missing, it opens up one more entry point for water. Installing it fresh across the full perimeter closes that out for the long term.
The Results
The days of chasing leaks one repair at a time are over. This homeowner went from a denied claim and a failing roof to a complete, professionally installed roofing system backed by strong manufacturer warranties. The project wrapped up with a full cleanup and debris removal, leaving the property spotless.
More than stopping the leaks, the new system delivers lasting protection and gives this family confidence that their home and their investment are covered for years to come. To keep the new system performing at its best, we offer a roof maintenance program for Sugar Land homeowners looking to stay ahead of any future issues.
